2026 S1 Summer Bridging Programme

Date & Overview

From July 20th to July 23rd, 2026, our incoming Secondary 1 students joined us for an energizing and memorable Summer Bridging Programme at Newman Catholic College!

Morning Assembly & English Friday Showcase

Each morning began with vibrant energy in the Lower Hall as students gathered for morning assembly and prayer. A key highlight was the mini ‘English Friday’ session led by Mr. Lam—a beloved NCC tradition! Student representatives from each of the four S1 classes stepped up to the stage, actively engaging with teachers and peers through active listening and public speaking in a fun, supportive all-English environment.

Interactive & Activity-Based Learning

Throughout the week, students explored English, Chinese, Mathematics, and Integrated Science through dynamic, activity-based lessons held in our classrooms and laboratories. Between interactive sessions and cheerful break times, our new students built early friendships and got to know their teaching team.

NCC Rap

Principal Ng, VP Ng PH and Ms Chiu joined Ms Dai, Ms Cheung, Ms Peng and Mr. Lam for the catchy NCC Rap during the final morning assembly, highlighting the fun moments of learning at NCC.  The event ended with a big group of students from each class to come to the stage and perform the rap, realizing how fun learning English at NCC can be!

Looking Ahead to S1 Life at NCC

A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated team of educators, discipline mistresses, and academic leadership for making this week such a resounding success. Our new S1 students are officially ready, confident, and excited to embark on their secondary school journey at NCC!

“What a fantastic way to learn through active listening, speaking, and collaboration! We can't wait to welcome our S1 cohort this coming school term.”
