Highlights:
This morning's assembly was a fun packed assembly Celebrating Chinese Cultural Week. We started off the assembly with a weather report from the brave and creative 1D students Samuel and Aiden. We then had students from 2D narrating the gripping story about the Lucky year of the horse. Our main event – with the help of the class teachers - featured 24 students- 2 representatives from each class up on stage. We were thrilled to see Principal Ng join the students, interacting with students in English in order to find the rights match. of the Year of the Horse Chinese Blessings in Chinese, to their English counterparts. After all the 12 pairs were swiftly matched, we collectively read out both the English and Chinese translations. Mr. Lam even asked some students to teach Ms. Jazz to say the blessings in Chinese. To round off our action packed assembly, Hazel from class 1D was invited on stage to deliver us his raging review on the book ‘the psychology of stupidity’. For his courageous efforts he was then awarded the title of ‘reading ranger’ of Newman Catholic. All students left the stage with smiles on their faces and shiny red packets to celebrate the Chinese New Year.
