Workshop Overview
Our impromptu speaking workshops were packed with exciting activities designed to boost confidence and enhance speaking skills!
- Warm-Up: We kicked things off with tongue twisters, getting our voices warmed up and tongues untangled for the challenges ahead!
- One-Minute Magic: Students learned the art of giving a compelling one-minute speech with little to no preparation. Talk about a test of wit and creativity!
- PREP Approach: We introduced the PREP technique—Main Point, Reason, Example, and Summary Point. This structured approach makes impromptu speeches flow smoothly and keeps the audience engaged.
- Emphatic Verbs: Students explored powerful emphatic verbs to make their speeches punchier and more dynamic.
- Useful Expressions: We unveiled handy expressions and two-part conjunctions to add flair and coherence to their speeches.
- Pitfalls to Avoid: A key part of our training was identifying common mistakes to sidestep when delivering impromptu speeches, ensuring confidence shines through!
- Group Practice: Students put their newfound skills to the test with practice sessions in groups, tackling random topics for real-life experience and fun!
- Recap: We wrapped things up with a recap, reinforcing key takeaways and igniting excitement for what’s to come!
