Highlights:
The theme of the week, "Embrace Positivity and Set Sail for your Dreams," centers on the importance of these qualities in school and everyday life. We started the assembly with 2 insightful students from 1A (Tik and Jeneson) tell us this week’s weather report. We then got an insightful presentation on the importance of keeping your values – and how to show respect and commitment in everyday life by class 2D. We then went on to conduct a morning exercise, aligning with the value of looking after our health and being the best possible version of ourselves. We were joined on stage by the principal, students from S6, junior form students and teachers.
We then challenged students from junior forms hold up a piece of paper that represented ‘bad thoughts’ for one minute. All students successfully were able to hold the paper but admitted that they were starting to get tired and that was the paper (bad thoughts) was the only thing they could think of. Thus we expressed the importance of when you shifted the paper to the side, it was not the only thing you can think about. And now you can see thoughts from a peripheral perspective. We then ended the assembly with everyone reciting some positive affirmations, reminding us of how we are sometimes able to do more than we think, and can set sail for our dreams.
